Project 2 Ideas

For this assignment I wanted to pull in some inspiration from fashion. In one of my classes I did a redesign for Ketch clothing, a local company in Seattle. I added a bunch of rolls overs on items of clothing but they were not active. I would love to actually make these roll over active. For example, the article of clothing would have a roll over of an actual model modeling the clothing with an entire outfit.

Ketch Clothing

I wanted to do something about the hottest spots around the Seattle area. for example you would pick a type of food or a certain drink you are looking for and then the roll over would pop up with the hottest spots in the area for that item. Or I could do something to do with activities around the area. You could select the type of activity you are interested and the scroll over ill have the names and locations of the hottest spots around. The client would be someone like Seattle's best magazine, their website I have posted below.

 Editorial:
NFL Star Maurice Jones-Drew Joins Anti-Fur Effort
By Tommy Dean | November 10, 2013
The football player says his dogs helped him realize that “animals have lives and souls” and fur is a cruel enterprise.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew recently teamed up with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for a photo shoot to advocate against the use of fur in fashion. The image of the NFL star shows him shirtless and tattooed with the words “Ink Not Mink” in bold letters. In an interview with PETA, Jones notes that his canine companions spurred his decision to get involved with the anti-fur campaign. “I have three dogs, and to see some of the videos or go online and research how animals are treated for fur, the cruelty is worse than torture,” he says. “NFL players … can [spread] awareness that animals have lives and souls and they go through pain and suffering just as humans do.” Other hard-hitting sports stars who have a soft spot for animals who have taken part in PETA campaigns include Tito Ortiz, Michael Strahan, and Aaron Curry

RESEARCH:
Client: VegNews, delivers the latest on News, food, travel, politics and buzz on popular issues.

Problem: The editorial has a strong stand on being against the use of fur in the fashion word. Since the article is so clear on the stance the player takes, I want to illustrate that through a illustration showing the players love for animals.

Solution: I want to cerate a piece that will demonstrate why people view fur fashion negatively. Everyday more and more people come around to hating the fashion trend and although I believe in free expression through fashion, I want to show that even men take stands based on their person beliefs and personal experiences.
